Another Government Office to Open

SB 1 provides for the formation of a new Legislative Fiscal Office. This eleven page bill will cost us thousands of additional dollars by forming another government office to oversee the budget. I say another because there is already an Office of the Budget. I must ask if there is already an Office of the Budget, why then do we need the Legislative Fiscal Office? This is a waste of our tax dollars and must be stopped! SB 1 is currently in the Senate Finance Committee. We must contact all members of this committee and let them know that we are absolutely opposed to SB 1. Any tasks charged to the new Legislative Fiscal Office could be and should be handled by the currently active Office of the Budget. Our economy is very weak right now. This is certainly not the time to be building a bigger government. Our government needs to be cutting back; as we find ourselves doing.
